Construction Accountant

Summary of Position:

This individual will play a key role in all accounting functions, including monthly close, financial statement production, and reconciliation. This role will interact with multiple departments and areas of the organization to explain and maintain financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  • Manage Month End Close process by maintaining the chart of accounts and processing monthly journal entries in accordance to the Accounting Handbook.
  • Review expenses and variances Analyze any unusual amounts and report to management.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis-Work closely with Accounting Manager to prepare internal reporting documents analyzing revenue, margin, and variances to budgets/forecasts. Attend monthly internal meetings to present to various departments within the organization.
  • Cash Management-reconcile cash on a daily/weekly basis and provide Accounting Manager with daily cash positions as well as cash forecasts.
  • With Accounting Manager, lead annual budget process by interacting cross functionally to create buy in from all leaders while maintaining integrity of the financials.
  • Recommend and implement procedures to improve the system and make the analysis of information easier and more concise.
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling
  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information

  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s and Metrics
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Quickbooks Desktop experience preferred
  • Vendor and customer reconciliations experience
  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team player
